Bedtime audio relaxation

I know that you enjoyed last week’s yoga for bedtime video, so thank you for all your messages, but we all know that watching a screen right before bed isn’t ideal. So, here’s an audio relaxation for you to try out just before bed tonight.Like last week, get your child ready into their nightwear. Get them sitting on their bed ready to begin. As I said in last week’s post, yoga is so great for physically releasing tension accumulated in our muscles, that it can help the body to relax before sleep. We hold on to that tension, often without realising it, which can affect our posture and the way that we stand, especially when we’re feeling stressed, anxious and worried.
The way that we learn to breathe more fully and mindfully in yoga allows us to shift from the sympathetic nervous system (fight/ flight), to the parasympathetic nervous system. Only then can we fully relax and only then can we properly sleep. This is why bedtime yoga and meditation is so incredibly useful – for kids and adults!
